Policy Analysts are the backbone of our advocacy efforts. You’ll conduct research, draft policy proposals, and collaborate on legislative initiatives to push for meaningful environmental change.
Responsibilities: conduct thorough research on environmental issues and legislative opportunities; draft policy briefs, bills, and reports tailored to local, state, or federal levels; present policy proposals at town halls, city council meetings, and state hearings; monitor legislative developments and report on progress; collaborate with fellow analysts and policy directors to shape the advocacy strategy.
Qualifications: strong research and writing skills; passion for environmental policy and advocacy; ability to work both independently and as part of a team; experience with public speaking or presenting is a plus. Must be a high school junior, senior, or currently enrolled college or university student.
Time Commitment: flexible hours, with a minimum of 5 hours per week.
Be the bridge between our organization and the community by coordinating town halls, public meetings, and advocacy events.
Responsibilities: plan and execute public events related to advocacy and community outreach; engage with local communities and stakeholders to promote our initiatives; gather public feedback and incorporate it into our policy strategies.
Qualifications: strong organizational and interpersonal skills; event planning experience is a plus; passion for environmental advocacy. Must be a high school junior, senior, or currently enrolled college or university student.
Time Commitment: approximately 3-4 hours per week, with flexibility around events.
Use your creative talents to visually represent our work and make our message resonate with a broader audience.
Responsibilities: design social media graphics, infographics, and promotional materials; create visual assets for reports and presentations; maintain brand consistency across all visual content.
Qualifications: proficiency in graphic design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite); creativity and a strong visual aesthetic; ability to work on tight deadlines and deliver high-quality designs.
Time Commitment: approximately 2-4 hours per week, depending on project needs.
** Saving the Sea values the time and effort that our team members put into making a difference! To support and recognize the hard work of our Graphic Designers, we are excited to offer stipends as compensation. All Graphic Designers over the age of 18 are eligible to apply for stipends upon acceptance, giving you the opportunity to request support for your contributions to our mission.
*** Please note that this position's workload may vary from week to week depending on current Saving the Sea initiatives. Stipends should not be considered a regular source of income.
