Founder and President
Shant Ispendjian, a student at Brown University studying International and Public Affairs alongside Environmental Science, is the Founder and President of Saving the Sea. He launched the organization in early 2022 after discovering a deep passion for environmental advocacy and sustainability. Today, Shant leads Saving the Sea’s strategic shift toward policy research and legislative engagement, and he is primarily involved in advancing the organization’s work at the federal level.
Outside of Saving the Sea, Shant previously served as a Student Commissioner on the City of Glendale’s Sustainability Commission and remains actively engaged in public policy and youth advocacy. He looks forward to continuing to work with the incredible team of student leaders to advance bold, youth-led environmental change.
